Alexander H.W. Molinari DO, MPH is a Public Health/General Preventive Medicine Resident Physician at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. A board-certified family physician, Dr. Molinari completed his family medicine residency at the Texas Institute for Graduate Medical Education (TIGMER) in San Antonio, TX while serving as chief resident in his final year. His experiences working with the underserved communities of San Antonio at the federally qualified healthcare center (FQHC) Communicare cemented to him the vital need for public health and population-based measures to provide efficient, large-scale solutions to improve the health of all individuals. Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Molinari completed his Master of Public Health at Florida State University where he focused on health promotion and policy, specifically tobacco prevention and cessation. He played a role in FSU’s implementation of a tobacco-free policy and later assisted with the Leon County Health Department’s tobacco-free initiative by guiding multi-unit dwellings to develop similar policies. As part of the preventive medicine program at Emory, he currently rotates throughout the city of Atlanta while working on various public health and population health-based projects via institutions such as the Georgia State Department of Public Health and the Atlanta VA Medical Center. His future endeavors include pursuing a role in public health while continuing clinical practice and teaching.
