Dr. Shanna Barton, M.D., M.Sc. is an Assistant Professor at Norton Children’s Hospital affiliated with the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY. Dr. Barton completed medical school, internal medicine and pediatrics residency, and fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at the University of Louisville. She joined the Norton Children’s Medical Group faculty in 2021. In addition to inpatient and outpatient consults, Dr. Barton helps to care for immunocompromised children as part of the Pediatric Transplant and Immunocompromised Host service and serves as Medical Director of the Vaccine Clinic. Dr. Barton is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society. Dr. Barton’s primary interests include medical student and resident education, vaccine advocacy, and care of immunocompromised children.
