Robert Rono, is a clinician, with a specialization in epidemiology and health care management. He currently works as a medical epidemiologist with the ministry of health in Kenya. He has over 8 years of public health leadership, healthcare management, monitoring evaluation and research. His research interests are in zoonotic diseases ; Neglected tropical diseases (paediatric HIV, Visceral Leishmaniasis and Snakebite envenoming). He participated and led in various outbreak and public health responses covering: viral hepatitis B; malaria and diarrheal illnesses outbreaks and Acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) surveillance. He has presented his work in various local and international scientific conferences. He recently won an early career grant from RSTMH/Wellcome Trust for a snakebite project in Kenya studying the knowledge, attituteds and practices of snakebite afflicted communities.He recently served as the technical lead on the COVID-19 response in Baringo County, Kenya.
