Dr. Nares Smitasin is a senior consultant at Division of Infection Diseases, Department of Medicine, National University Hospital and an asistant professor at Department of Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.
Dr. Smitasin received his medical degree from Mahidol University, Thailand. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at University of Hawaii, USA and fellowship in infectious diseases at University of Illinois in Chicago, USA.
Dr. Smitasin has interests in immunocompromised patients: HIV, hemato/oncology and organ transplant patients. He runs HIV clinic and transplant clinic at NUH. He involves in Infectious Disease Community Program (IDCP) to support and educate various nursing homes in the west region of Singapore in infection control, developing clinical pathway and immunization guideline.
