Dr. Kathryn Weakley, MD is a third year pediatric infectious diseases fellow at the University of Louisville, affiliated with Norton Children's Hospital. Dr. Weakley completed her undergraduate, medical, and pediatric residency training at the University of Louisville and served as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine for one year prior to starting her pediatric infectious diseases fellowship.
Dr. Weakley is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and a member of the AAP’s Section on Infectious Diseases, the Infectious Diseases Society of America, and the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society.
Dr. Weakley is currently completing a Master’s degree in Clinical Investigative Sciences. Her research interests include the long-term health outcomes of children with unexplained fevers, the long-term health outcomes of children with post-COVID syndrome, and the clinical outcomes of patients who received monoclonal antibody therapy. She has also led quality improvement efforts aimed at improving pneumococcal vaccination among immunocompromised patients, influenza vaccination among hospitalized patients, and HPV vaccination in a general pediatrics outpatient clinic.
