Gustavo Kijak, PharmD PhD has 20 years of experience in translational research of viral vaccines and therapeutics. He is the author of 72 peer-reviewed papers. He worked for 15 years at the US Military HIV Research Program (MHRP) on HIV vaccine research and development. Major areas of his research included HIV molecular epidemiology, genomics of host-pathogen interaction, and their impact on HIV acquisition, disease progression, and response to vaccination.
Dr Kijak has 5 years of experience in biopharmaceutical industry, supporting vaccines and immune therapies. He is currently a Principal Scientist at Translational Medicine, early V&I, AstraZeneca, where he leads the Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Virology.
