My name is Marisa Winkler, MD, PhD and I am a current fellow in medical microbiology at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. I have completed my internal medicine residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA and I completed my infectious disease fellowship in the combined fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital. I focused on training in antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention and hospital epidemiology in my second year of infectious disease fellowship. I am interested in antimicrobial susceptibility testing and diagnostic and therapeutic stewardship and how we can best utilize testing to improve patient safety and reduce the spread of multidrug-resistant organisms.
