Dr Muneeba Ahsan Sayeed (MBBS, FCPS Internal Medicine, FCPS Infectious Diseases, FACP) currently working as Assistant Professor Infectious Diseases at Sindh Infectious Disease Hospital and Research Center, Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi, Pakistan.
I have total twelve years of clinical experience and have served at all the renowned hospitals of Karachi including Civil Hospital Karachi, Sindh Institute of Urology & Transplant, Aga Khan University Hospital and SMBB- Institute of Trauma.
When COVID pandemic started (Feb 2020) I was given the responsibility of establishing COVID units at Dow University Hospital Ojha and at SMBB-Institute of Trauma. Later in June 2020 I was given the task of establishing the Pakistan’s 1st dedicated Infectious diseases Hospital (Sindh Infectious Disease Hospital & Research Centre) where to date more than 5000 COVID patients have been treated.
I am also the co-author of Pakistan’s National COVID-19 management guidelines (Jun 2020) and H. pylori management guidelines from Pakistan (July 2022). A research reviewer at Infectious Diseases Journal Pakistan and have participated in different National Conferences as speaker.
I have total 8 international publications on bacterial, viral and fungal infections. My work on novel fungus Candida auris has been very much appreciated. I have also conducted phase I to phase III Clinical trials as Principal Investigator/ Co-Investigator. At present I am PI/Co-PI in 3 international and 2 national clinical trials.
