Julianna Svishchuk, BSc, is currently a graduate student in Dr. Michael Parkins research group at the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada, in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Infectious Diseases. Julianna began her work at the Parkins Lab in May of 2019 as an undergraduate student, looking at the impact of inoculum effects in methicillin-sensitive Staphyloccocus aureus in the context of cystic fibrosis lung infections. Her work has continued into her graduate degree, where she now investigates the role of cytomegalovirus in the CF lung. Julianna is honoured to be attending IDWeek 2022, and looks forward to persenting her work, as well as hearing about all the phenomenal research ongoing in the field of infectious diseases.
