I am an Assistant Professor in Pediatrics in the Division of Infectious Diseases of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine with a focus on pediatric HIV research. For the last 9 years, I have focused my research on inflammation and metabolic complications of HIV in adults, children and HIV exposed uninfected children. We have developed a pediatric collaboration with the JCRC in Uganda with the intent to bring novel insights regarding pediatric HIV in Sub-Saharan Africa. I currently have several ongoing research projects, all observational studies in Uganda designed to further enhance our understanding of markers of inflammation and immune activation and cardiovascular disease risks and metabolic complications in children and adults.
