Preethiya is a third year medical student at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. She has a history of global health research in India and East Africa. She is currently a Fogarty Scholar at the Infectious Disease Institute in Kampala, Uganda. Her current work is focused on assessing the feasibility of new technologies to better treat advanced HIV and prevent related- opportunistic infections.
