Daniel Grupel MD, DTM&H from Soroka University Medical Center and Ben Gurion University in Beer Sheva, Israel.
Works as a clinician in a medical ward in a tertiary center and as an ID physician. My ID focus is on hospital-acquired CNS infections, zoonoses, and clinical parasitology.
My current research focuses on zoonotic infections, mainly Brucellosis, trying to integrate genomic and epidemiological data in promoting control efforts in high prevalence areas. Other areas of interest are clinical implications of outpatient parasitic infections, vaccine effects, and antibiotic stewardship.
I teach in the Ben Gurion medical school, the Medical School of International Health, and IM and ID residents and fellows.
I'm also involved in improving the way we teach at all levels of medical education and am an avid proponent of games in medical education.
