Amanda Barner, PharmD, BCPS, BCIDP is a Senior Clinical Pharmacist Specialist in Infectious Diseases at Cambridge Health Alliance.
After completing her Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Rhode Island in 2011, she worked as a pharmacist at Eleanor Slater Hospital in Rhode Island. Amanda completed 2 years of residency at Boston Medical Center, one in pharmacy practice and the second in infectious diseases. As co-director of CHA’s Antimicrobial Stewardship Team, Amanda works closely with pharmacy leadership, the infectious diseases department, and the microbiology laboratory to implement various quality improvement initiatives. She also serves as a preceptor for the pharmacy residency program. Outside CHA, she volunteered as a member of the Fenway Health Institutional Review Board and the MA Department of Public Health Antimicrobial Usage Subcommittee. She is an active member of the SIDP Social Media Committee and ACCP ID PRN Newsletter Committee.
Amanda’s career interests include antimicrobial resistance, population health, antimicrobial stewardship, and utilization of social media for professional development, networking, and advocacy.
