Anna Conlon has a PhD in biostatistics and is a current MD candidate at the University of Michigan. Her PhD work focused on the use of intermediate markers in clinical trials, including the validation of these markers as surrogates for the final outcome of interest and the use of intermediate markers as auxiliary variables to improve the estimation of treatment effects. Prior to attending medical school, she worked as the lead statistician for collaborative quality initiatives at Michigan Medicine focused on the safe use of peripherally inserted central catheters, appropriate antibiotic use in pneumonia and urinary tract infections, and safety in transitions of care. She is applying into residency for Internal Medicine this fall and plans to then do a fellowship in infectious diseases.
