Michael R. Morgan, MD is a native of East Tennessee who is currently a staff physician at Novant Health: Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and a physician in Novant Health Medical Group where he practices outpatient Infecitous Disease. He went to both undergraduate and medical school at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. He then did a combine Internal Medicien and Pediatric Residency at Charleston Area Medical Center, West Virginia University Division, in Charleston, West Virginia, where is also was Pediatric Chief Resident. He did his Infectious Disease training at Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He is the former Chair of the Infectious Disease Sub-Committee of Pharmaceutical and Theraputics, and former Lead Clinician for the Winston-Salem Market, Novant Health Infectious Disease Specialists. He spends a majority of his professional time doing general Infectious Disease, with some time dioing clinical research trials and other administrative roles. His general ID practice includes HIV, Hepatitis B and C, travel medicine, prosthetic joint infections, endocarditis, etc. He specializes in outpatient treatment of Mycobacterial infections and Common Variable Immunodefiecency (CVID) and other hypogammaglobinemia states.
