Dr. Wiley attended medical school at the University of Alabama (Birmingham) and internal medicine residency and infectious diseases fellowship at Emory. She is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Emory Division of Infectious Diseases and served as the Director of Antimicrobial Stewardship at Emory University Hospital Midtown from 2017-2022 prior to her transition to the Hope Clinic (which is the clinical trials arm of the Emory Vaccine Center). At the Hope Clinic, Dr. Wiley serves as a Vaccine and Treatment Evaluation Unit (VTEU) co-investigator, the Hope Clinic PI of the multi-site NIH RECOVER study, and a health equity advocate. Her health equity advocacy at the Hope Clinic includes dedication to ensuring racial and ethnic diversity in clinical trials, fostering relationships and developing solid foundations with the surrounding community, and serving as a mentor to many BIPOC trainees (from college students to internal medicine residents). Dr. Wiley is a member of the Emory Department of Medicine’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council, serves as the physician lead of the Emory Healthcare COVID-19 Treatment Guidance Committee, is a member of the SHEA Education and Stewardship Committees, and chair of the SHEA E-learning subcommittee.
