Taisuke “Tice-K” Sato, is a senior undergraduate student at Tufts majoring in community health. As a research assistant for Dr. Alysse Wurcel at Tufts Medical Center, he works with a team of providers and students to challenge the status quo of healthcare.
In the era of the worsening fentanyl crisis, he is most drawn to investigating substance use disorders and co-occurring infections such as HIV and Hepatitis C. Through research that harnesses the power of human expertise and artificial intelligence, he hopes to increase accessibility to high-quality and equitable addiction care.
Taisuke, also a certified addiction recovery facilitator for SMART Recovery, holds weekly recovery meetings at Tufts Medical Center's inpatient psychiatry unit.
