Koh Shinohara, M.D., is a PhD student in Department of Clinical Laboratory Medicine, Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine. He was graduate from Faculty of Medicine, Kyoto University. He completed internal medicine residency at Kyoto City Hospital, Kyoto, Japan, and ID fellowship at Kyoto City Hospital and the National Center for Global Health and Medicine, Tokyo, Japan. His main interests are ID in immunocompromised hosts. His research focuses on molecular epidemiology of pathogenic bacteria, especially Gram positive bacteria, and mechanisims of horizontal transfer of antimicrobial resistant genes. Dr. Shinohara is ID/IM board certified in Japan.
