Dr. Sherita Love serves as the Executive Director for the Center for Teaching and eLearning at Baylor College of Medicine. She also holds a primary appointment in the Department of Education, Innovation, and Technology as an Assistant Professor. In her current role, she leads a team of instructional designers and educators that create and deliver educator professional development, technology integration, and eLearning course development in support of undergraduate medical education.
With over 15 years of combined experience in instructional design and leadership, she has extensive experience designing curricula for online, hybrid, and face-to-face environments. With roots in teaching, graphic design, and multimedia development, Dr. Love has had the privilege of working with educators and learners in both corporate and higher education environments.
Dr. Love served on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board – Learning Technology Advisory Committee where she participated in a variety of subcommittees including, Principles of Good Practice for Electronically Offered Courses.
Before joining Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Love was the founding director of the Center for Academic Innovation, Texas A&M University-San Antonio. The unit provided faculty instructional design support, academic technology integration coaching, and professional development.
Her primary interests include evaluation of curriculum design, active learning, and faculty adoption and integration of academic technology tools. She is also interested in game-based learning, and innovative immersive e-learning experiences that assist in the transfer of knowledge and application in medical education.
A native of Georgia, Dr. Love has earned a Ph.D. in Instructional Design and Technology from the University of North Dakota, a Master of Education in Instructional Design and Technology from the University of Georgia, and a Bachelor of Science in Middle-Grade Education from Georgia State University with a concentration in Math and English.
