Dr. Michael J. Allshouse, DO is Professor of Surgery (Pediatrics) at East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine. He recently relocated to Johnson City, Tennessee from California's Central Valley where he was the director of Pediatric surgery and the pediatric trauma program at Valley Children's Hospital in Madera, CA. He trained in general surgery in the U.S. Navy. Michael completed a fellowship in pediatric trauma and burns at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He completed a pediatric surgery residency at The Children's Hospital Denver and the University of Colorado School of Health Sciences. He is a member of the Down syndrome medical interest group and the American Pediatric Surgical Association as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics. He was the first osteopathic surgeon trained and certified as a pediatric surgeon. Dr. Allshouse is currently the surgery program director at the ETSU Quillen College of Medicine.
