Dr. Pinnola attended medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). He then completed his general surgery residency training in the University of Maryland Medical System and Grand Strand Medical Center. He went on to complete specialty fellowship training in advanced upper gastrointestinal surgery and hepatobiliary surgery at the Advent Health System in Orlando, FL. In 2019, he returned to Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC as the Associate Program Director of the General Surgery Residency Program. He holds the title of Assistant Professor at Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, University of South Carolina School of Medicine, and Mercer University School of Medicine. He also functions as the Grand Strand Medical Center Cancer Committee Chair and Physician Liaison.
