Samantha received her bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Creighton University in 2013 and her MPH in environmental health from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University in 2015. She has prior work experience in analytical chemistry, environmental epidemiology, qualitative research, and most recently, pharmacoepidemiology and quality improvement at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
She is primarily interested in epidemiology methods and leveraging secondary data sources, such as electronic medical records and insurance claims, to study topics such as the role of mental health in substance abuse disorders, over-prescribing and the impact on opioid use disorder outcomes, environmental impacts on medication adherence, etc. In her spare time, Samantha enjoys craft beer, hiking, and DIY projects.
