Julie Barberio is a PhD candidate in the Department of Epidemiology at Emory University and the inaugural Pre-Doctoral Fellow at the Center for Observational Research at Amgen Inc. Her dissertation research is related to assessing how pharmacoepidemiologic methods can be applied to appropriately chosen real-world data sources to deliver influential and valid real-world-based evidence regarding medication safety and effectiveness. Her primary research interests involve the intersection of pharmacoepidemiology with reproductive, perinatal, and pediatric epidemiology. Prior to coming to Emory, Julie earned her dual bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Health: Science, Society, and Policy from Brandeis University.
