After being awarded a PhD in Medical Statistics from the University of Warwick in the UK, Katherine spent nearly four years with the Medical Research Council Clinical trials unit working in observational and interventional HIV treatment studies before moving to be a pharmacoepidemiologist at the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency in the UK. Having now been there over 10 years, Katherine leads their pharmacoepidemiology team working closely with partners across the Agency to advise on the value of observational studies and to develop strategy on the use of real world data to support regulation. She has also been involved in many external projects including the EMA/HMA Big Data Task Force and is a member of the WHO Global Advisory Committee on Vaccine Safety.
