I am a pharmacist with an international PhD in pharmacoepidemiology. I am currently working as a senior manager epidemiologist at GSK in London as part of the respiratory team. I started at GSK in the metabolic-cardiovascular/neurosciences/rare disease unit in 2017, and I moved to the respiratory team in 2018. I work in all clinical drug development phases, from early stages to post-authorisation, including safety (PASS) studies. I have more than 8 years of experience in the design, analysis and interpretation of pharmacoepidemiological studies using electronic healthcare records (HER) databases and employing different designs such as cohort, nested case-control, case crossover and self-controlled case series studies. I have also been involved in large multicentre prospective cohort studies to evaluate safety endpoints.
I have previous extensive experience in Pharmacovigilance (PV) and clinical trials. I hold a master’s degree in clinical trials from the Autonomous University of Madrid and a master’s degree in public health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). I have wide background in EU regulatory framework, and I am lecturer in a Master of Pharmacoepidemiology at University of Alcala (Madrid).
I have more than 17 years of experience in PV-Pharmacoepidemiology, and during that time I have hold different positions in the pharmaceutical industry, academia, and international research organisations.
