I am Ishfaq Rashid, working as a research scholar at the Department of Pharmacy Practice, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Mohali India. My research work concentrated on generating high-quality, explicit evidence on healthcare with the intention of promoting better health and supporting healthcare decision-making globally. My doctoral research focuses on evaluating the complications, predictors, progression, and outcomes of chronic kidney disease at a tertiary care public teaching hospital. Currently, I am serving as an Asia Pacific Regional Lead ISPOR Global Student Network for the academic year 2022-2023.
Our healthcare system is patchy, and the utility of RWE is challenged by methodological rigor, large data sets of dubious quality, and diversity of information. Additionally aggravating it are the complicated decision-making processes in healthcare and a dearth of skilled human resources. This Mid-Year meeting, which concentrates on RWD Pandemonium During a Pandemic - Lessons for Future RWE Generation and Decision Making? will help me to understand and comprehend the challenges in RWE in a broader context.
It is a matter of pride and dignity for a research scientist when his/her research work obtains global prominence, and it would be even more meaningful to deliver it to a global audience. I am confident it would have a significant impact on my perseverance and determination. I work in a low-resource environment, and this scholarship grant is like a passport that allows me to attend this meeting in person.
I want to become a reference for all healthcare professionals in making informed choices and ISPE is a reference standard to me for understanding those choices from a broader perspective. I hope I am able to fetch financial assistance from ISPE and fulfill my longings to contribute and get contributed. I would like to see ISPE reach new heights and make this platform available to all countries throughout the world, particularly those with limited financial resources and who have a strong desire to learn and pursue a career in pharmacoepidemiology.
