Dr. Maurizio Sessa is a tenure track assistant professor of Pharmacoepidemiology at the University of Copenhagen. He was trained as a pharmacist at the University of Campania “L. Vanvitelli”, received the title of Certified expert in Regulatory Affairs at the Donau Universität Krems in Austria. Maurizio obtained his European Ph.D. (e.g., Doctor Europaeus) in Translational Medicine in 2017 in co-tutoring between the University of Campania “L. Vanvitelli” and Aalborg University. Maurizio worked until 2019 as a postdoctoral researcher in Pharmacoepidemiology at the Aalborg University Hospital and the University of Copenhagen. His primary research interests include the application and development of tools for drug utilization research, machine-learning applications for subgroup identification in secondary data sources, and comparative safety/effectiveness research of pharmacotherapy.
