Joep Scholl graduated as a medical biologist (MSc) from the Radboud University in Nijmegen, The Netherlands in 2001. Thereafter, he had various roles in clinical data management, clinical research and medical affairs within Contract Research Organisations and the pharmaceutical industry. Since 2010 he has been employed at the Netherlands Pharmacovigilance Centre Lareb as a scientific assessor. In this role he has experience in both clinical and statistical signal detection. During his period at Lareb, he completed a Master of Epidemiology program at the VU University Medical Centre in Amsterdam (2014).
Currently he is involved in data science activities and statistical signal detection research at Lareb. The latter is also the topic of his PhD project at the University of Groningen.
