I am a Norwegian pharmacist with a doctoral degree in pharmacoepidemiology and statistics from 2010. My current position is associate professor in social pharmacy at UiT the arctic university of Norway, and member of the research group for clinical pharmacy and pharmacoepidemiology, called IPSUM, at the Department of Pharmacy.
I am interested in consequences of, and factors associated with, medication use in the general population, but also use of dietary supplements, particular herbal products.
My research experience comes mainly from working with health surveys and prescription registry data, including linkage studies. Questionnaire data and blood samples from the Norwegian Women and Cancer cohort (NOWAC) and the Tromsų Study, have been my main sources of information on population medication use. In later years, I have also contributed in health service research, for instance looking into medication error reporting in hospital, as well as medication knowledge and information needs among pharmacy customers.
