Alex is an epidemiologist with extensive expertise in the design and analysis of observational studies using modern causal inference methods. His work has focused on using observational data to inform HIV and hepatitis C care and public health policy in the United States. He has been involved in studies across a wide range of additional subjects, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and periodontal disease. Prior to joining NoviSci, Alex held positions at UNC Chapel Hill, and spent 5 years working in the quantitative finance industry.
At NoviSci, he focuses on the implementation of cutting-edge methods and study designs using techniques from causal inference and machine learning, and he works on the company’s methodologically complex research projects. In addition to his role at NoviSci, Alex is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the UNC-Chapel Hill Department of Epidemiology.
When he isn’t working, Alex is busy playing with his toddler twin girls and two rescue dogs.
