Optum Epidemiology
Dr. Bertoia is a Senior Epidemiologist at Optum where she conducts administrative claims and electronic health record-based clinical epidemiology and pharmacoepidemiology research including pregnancy safety studies. She received a Master of Public Health in 2007 from the Yale School of Public Health and a PhD in 2011 from the Brown University School of Public Health. Prior to joining the Optum Epidemiology group, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, adjunct faculty at the Simmons School of Nursing and Health Sciences where she co-taught an introductory biostatistics and epidemiology class, and instructor in medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
