Seonkyeong Yang is a second year PhD student in the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy, College of Pharmacy, University of Florida. She is currently working under the guidance of Dr. Jenny Lo-Ciganic on several opioid and migraine projects. Her primary research interests are drug safety and effectiveness with a focus on migraine. Prior to joining graduate school, she worked at Pharminent LLC as a healthcare analyst focusing on diabetes mellitus, obesity, and aesthetic dermatology market intelligence research on a daily basis. She holds a master’s degree (2015) in Clinical Pharmacy from Marmara University in Istanbul, Turkey. She earned a bachelor’s degree in College of Pharmacy at Pusan National University in Busan, South Korea in 2009. After graduation, she worked at the Pusan National University Hospital as a research pharmacist of the Pusan National University Regional Pharmacovigilance Research Center, where she developed her interests in pharmacovigilance and pharmacoepidemiology. Having experienced different healthcare systems around the world, she became more cognizant of the invisible yet tangible attributes of healthcare management.
