Chengchen Zhang is a 4th year PhD candidate in pharmacoepidemiology from Department of Pharmaceutical Health Services Research at University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Her research fields include psychotropic utilization and drug safety in young population. During the first three years of her doctoral study, Chengchen has worked to explore the trends in antipsychotic prevalence in children and adolescents, evaluate safety of concomitant use of different psychotropic classes for youth, and investigate the association between family adversity and pediatric psychotropic polypharmacy. Her current research focuses on suicide prevention among young people. She is interested in applying computational simulation methods to synthesize multiple data sources and other published evidence to better understand the association between risk factors and suicide within a complex social-ecological system and inform policy and clinical decision making in practice.
