Cynthia Girman, DrPH, FISPE, Founder and President of CERobs Consulting, LLC, is a highly motivated epidemiologist and outcomes research executive with nearly 40 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and strong interest in biostatistics and observational research. Cindy has led multi-institution academic methods collaborations, published extensively and reviewed for numerous journals. As Adjunct Professor of Epidemiology at University of North Carolina Gillings Global School of Public Health, Cindy mentors numerous doctoral students. She is an elected Board member and fellow of ISPE, for which she annually reviews abstracts, organizes symposia and teaches in a pragmatic randomized clinical trials (pRCT) course. In September 2014, Cindy was the first industry member nominated to the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Methodology Committee, on which she actively continues along with their Clinical Trials Advisory Panel. Currently, Cindy consults on study design, analytic methods and protocol development for real world evidence, such as registries, post-authorization safety studies, natural history studies, external control groups. She is co-editing a textbook on pRCTs using primary data collection and electronic health records, being published by Elsevier Sciences in 2021. She also consults on design of randomized controlled clinical trials, particularly on development and validation of innovative endpoints for randomized clinical trials, including patient reported outcomes, as well as patient engagement and qualitative research (patient interviews and focus groups).
