Using Sculpting Chocolate, students will learn the basics of sculpting the human eye, nose and mouth. We will approach each feature individually, and students will leave with three sculpts, one of each feature. Cake art presently includes a wild array of possibilities, meaning cake artists need to have a wider variety of skill sets than ever. Sculpting human faces can be intimidating, but in this class we will take it on with simpler, more approachable methods. Classroom Engagement Students will learn the basics of three human facial features, the eye, nose and mouth. Each student will create three pieces, one of each of these features. By breaking them into smaller, more focused tutorials, sculpting them becomes less intimidating. We will take our time, spending at least an hour on each feature. Learning Objectives What will participants be able to do as a result of the course, training, or class? Students will leave the class understanding the structures that make human face sculptures look realistic. Focusing on the eye. nose and mouth, students will learn how to represent each feature on their edible sculptures. What are the conditions or circumstances where the participants will perform this activity, and what knowledge or materials does he/she need to do this effectively? These skills will be taught in a classroom stting. each student will be given the materials to sculpt each feature from Sculpting Chocolate. What level of proficiency is needed to perform the task or skill successfully or apply this information? This class is open to absolute beginners and professionals, for bakery production workers to home hobbyists.
