Matthew Anderson is a proven-exit entrepreneur with an extensive set of business development skills and a track record of success.
Having spent a good part of the past decade as a private equity manager, operator and public speaker in the US and International Cannabis and Hemp Industries, Anderson is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Vanguard Scientificâ„¢, a project focused, professional services and technology integration consulting firm that works directly with clients to develop extraction facilities, enable high-quality, integrated supply chain capabilities and employ processing standards to meet specific regulatory requirements of natural ingredient and pharmaceutical compliance.
Prior to entering the Life Sciences industry, Matt founded Enlightened Grain Spirits, a nationally distributed spirits portfolio known for its USDA Organic purity, sustainable ingredients, responsible manufacturing, community outreach and naturally infused line of botanical alcoholic products. Not content to allow traditional communications channels to tell his story, Anderson took control of his company’s narrative and that of other well-known brands through the development of a boutique agency specializing in identity, brand design, strategic messaging, and marketing. As the agency’s Managing Director, he was able to participate in the marketing communications of such corporations as Boeing, the prestigious Medal of Honor foundation, and multiple emerging beverage brands.
Matthew studied at the School of International Business at Rollins College, with area focus including International Business, Economics, and Orchestral Ensemble. Always having felt the need to re-define the primary narratives defining health and wellness for our evolving society, Anderson explored the regulated Life Sciences industry, leading the corporate development and collaborating in the industrial product design of an early-stage terminal sterility and bio-decontamination technologies company, selling internationally into the global healthcare marketplace.
In 2014, Anderson exited Enlightened Grain Spirits and the EG Vodka Brand through majority acquisition and leveraged his unique expertise within the controlled substance markets to become one of the emerging cannabis industry’s early voices in the architecture, development and ongoing debate of Florida’s SB1030 and the 2014 Compassionate Use Act.
Today, Anderson feels that the world has reached an evolutionary place in the open discourse, examination and acceptance of many previously taboo topics surrounding human consciousness, mental health, overall well-being and our relationship to the range psychedelic compounds enabling altered states of extrasensory perception and non-egoic introspection. Anderson is focused on enabling research, access to capital and standardizing best-practices for consistent and safe ingredient creation.
