Melanie Breitner currently holds a role with PROVA, Inc. as Director of Business Development. With a BS in Biology and an MS in operations with nearly 40 years in the food industry in varying roles from benchtop to commercialization, Melanie cares most about using her expertise to solve problems. Melanie joined PROVA over five years ago to focus on nurturing entrepreneurs and helping them grow, as well as establishing partnerships within the food and beverage industry.
Over the years, Melanie has helped dozens of small businesses launch products which gives Melanie great joy. Transforming unique home-based recipes into precise formulations at scale requires an understanding of many areas of the food science, including product processing parameters, food safety, shelf life, pH, water activity, and quality as a few examples, and each is often solved by out-of-the-box and creative solutions.
Melanie gives her time as a mentor and coach to numerous accelerators and incubators across the country, sharing her expertise as a way to give back and help others succeed. Working for PROVA, and the entrepreneurial spirit of her colleagues at PROVA inspires her to do even more.
