Sandra Musumeci, a litigation partner with the law firm of Riley Safer Holmes & Cancila in New York, started her career as an Assistant District Attorney with the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, where she prosecuted a range of sexual assault and domestic violence cases and regularly worked with survivors. She later served as the Deputy Inspector General for the New York City Police Department, where she helped create a public office to oversee police work in New York and recommend reforms to make policing safer, more effective, and better in tune with the needs of the community. In her current practice, Sandy conducts internal investigations to address claims of sexual assault and harassment, she represents colleges and universities in formulating and enforcing their Title IX policies and procedures, and she represents sexual assault victims in civil matters, including defending against retaliatory defamation suits. Sandy is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School, and a member of the bars of New York and New Jersey.
