Jamie Bunn, MSN, RN, CEN, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Barton College in 1998 and obtained her Master of Nursing from Western Carolina University in 2021. She has a Board of Certification for Emergency Nurses. She also holds a certificate from the Emergency Nurses Association for Emerging Nursing Pediatric Course and course instructor for Trauma Nurse Core Course. She has an additional certificate from The Society of Trauma Nurses for Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses. She is a current instructor for American Heart Association for BLS. ACLS and PALS. Her nursing career began in Labor and Delivery as a new graduate. Jamie continued her career in women’s health care until she transitioned to emergency medicine. As an emergency nurse, repeated exposure to traumatic events for more than ten years has led her to the research on compassion fatigue and how to assist other nurses in coping with the lack of compassion. As an education resource specialist, her career goal is to advocate for other nurses experiencing compassion fatigue and redirect them to recapture their energy and passion for providing excellent care to patients and families.
