Dr. St. Germain spent over three decades caring for patients with forensic needs, through death investigation; adult, elder, and child abuse; interpersonal violence; strangulation; human trafficking; traumatic wounding; and legal nurse consulting. She provides forensic nursing education to nurses and advanced practice nurses on local, regional, and international levels. For the past 23 years, she has taught hundreds of undergraduate nursing students about forensic nursing and the care of patients with violence-based health issues. As a practicing sexual assault nurse examiner and educator, she regularly iterates forensic needs of specialized populations through her participation in the Louisiana Chapter of IAFN, Greater New Orleans Human Trafficking Taskforce, HOPE Clinic Board of Directors, and Louisiana Department of Health Maternal Mortality Review Team.
