Julia Klavans is the Lead Trainer for DC Forensic Nurse Examiners. Ms. Klavans is a clinical skills educator, with an emphasis on physical examination. She is a Forensic Teaching Associate at DCFNE, where she is gratified to teach SANEs how to perform trauma-informed and patient centered exams. Also a teaching associate at Johns Hopkins University and Georgetown University, Ms. Klavans enjoys imparting mastery of physical exam technique and encouraging compassionate and collaborative patient communication. Ms. Klavans is a veteran Genitourinary Teaching Associate and trainer at Johns Hopkins. With a background in professional theatre, Ms. Klavans applies her skills to portray realistic simulations of patient encounters and nuanced, observation-based feedback to learners. Ms. Klavans is also an Intimacy Choreographer for stage and film, a field which complements her work with DCFNE in her vision to bring empowerment and healing to all.
