Jess Garcia is a 5th year doctoral student studying Crime, Law and Deviance with interests in intimate partner violence and feminist criminological theory. Her current work examines long-term economic effects of intimate partner sexual violence. She previously earned her BBA in Business Management from McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin in 2016. She also works as an advocate for her local sexual assault research center and is passionate about combining research and practice to improve the lives of survivors.
