Brenda Herrmann is a certified informatics nurse specialist with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a focus in leadership from the University of Texas at Tyler. She obtained her MSN with a focus in informatics from Duke University. Her DNP Evidence-Based Practice project was an informatics solution to locate on-duty Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs) in the proximity of sexual assault victims. The project was in direct response to inspiration from Rebecca Fears, BSN, RN, CEN, SANE-A, CA-CP SANE, Texas Chapter President of the IAFN.
Certified as an Informatics Nurse Specialist and a Project Management Professional, Dr. Herrmann has led exceptional teams through the entire electronic health systems life cycle, including workflow re-design, and clinical systems interoperability and standardization. As she worked on her DNP, she promoted Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) and Clinical Decision Support (CDS) tools in building excellent Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) systems. Dr. Herrmann enjoys delving into data analytics and helping design user interfaces for clinical systems.
