Dr. Katy Allison is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Behavior and Health Education at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health. She received her her Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) and her Ph.D. in Health Promotion and Prevention Research from UAMS. She completed a NIDA-funded postdoctoral fellowship in translational addiction research at the UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute in 2021. She is also a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). Broadly, her research interests include implementation science, qualitative research, technology-based interventions, and addressing health disparities for underserved populations, such as LGBTQ populations, justice-involved individuals, and sexual assault survivors. Her work involves studying the implementation of treatment services in criminal justice settings and emergency departments, particularly for survivors of sexual violence and those at risk for suicide. Currently, Dr. Allison serves on the evaluation team for the UAMS TeleSANE Program and supports research in the Rural Telehealth Evaluation Center for the UAMS Institute for Digital Health.
