Antoinette Janson is a licensed RN in Texas. She came from Virginia where she has been practicing as a forensic nurse in a rural community servicing over 10 counties. She has experience in caring for those who have experienced violence from sexual assault, intimate partner violence, strangulation, child sexual assault, child physical abuse and neglect, and elder abuse. She was an active member in a coordinating council where she participated in monthly meetings with community partners with expertise, all working together to improve access to forensic care from the medical, advocacy, and legal perspectives. She was awarded a role in a Nursing Research Fellowship where she is collaborating with two colleagues to build a strangulation protocol in the emergency department where she was last employed. She is finishing her master’s degree in Forensic Nursing in May and is preparing to take the SANE-A exam in April.
