Dr. Jessica Hobbs serves as the Medical Director of Adult Emergency Medicine at the Level One Emergency Trauma Center at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina. Dr. Hobbs also leads the seven hospital campuses of Prisma Health Upstate as Director of Disaster Preparedness and Director of the Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner Program.
Dr. Hobbs holds appointments as Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of South Carolina, School of Medicine—Greenville and as teaching clinical faculty for the Prisma Health Emergency Medicine Residency Program. She was part of the core academic operations team that built the Emergency Medicine Residency Program. In that role, Dr. Hobbs spent two years developing and implementing curriculum and recruitment strategies as the Graduate Medical Director of Recruitment and Orientation. The first class of residents graduated in 2020.
Dr. Hobbs completed medical school at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, followed by Emergency Medicine Residency training at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. During residency, she spent two years as Chief Resident and completed a yearlong Teaching In Policy Studies Fellowship focused on healthcare and national policy development.
Dr. Hobbs joined Prisma Health (then Greenville Health System) in 2015. Her interests include healthcare policy, forensic emergency medicine, and healthcare systems development.
