Dr. Alison Colbert is a Professor at the Duquesne University School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA. She is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Public/Community Health, She has taught public health and forensic content extensively in the undergraduate and graduate programs. Dr. Colbert has focused much of her work on care for those involved with the criminal justice system. She is also the co-founder of Equity Access at the School of Nursing, an educational project developed to increase accessibility in healthcare. She is currently an Associate Editor for the Journal of Forensic Nursing. She is. also the Project Director for a. DOJ grant on campus Sexual Assault and the Academic Coordinator for a HRSA grant on increasing the number of certified SANES in rural and underserved areas.
