I am a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Sexual Assault Forensic Examination (SAFE), having completed a Post Graduate Higher Diploma in SAFE with the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland in September 2019. In June 2016 I completed a Masters in applied Health Care Management from University College Dublin, focusing my studies on gaining an insight of the lived experience of the homeless population on a designated nurse led service. In 2020 I successfully completed Nurse prescribing and is registered to prescribe medicinal products. on 2022 I competed a cert in advance practice to become registered as a advance Nurse practitioner in SATU
IN 2021 I was elected as the Chairperson to AINM SAFE, the Association of Irish Nurses and Midwives- Sexual Assault Forensic Examiners. Since 2019
I have worked as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Mullingar Sexual Assault Treatment Unit, situated in the midlands of Ireland, where I provides comprehensive care for those aged 14 years and over who have experienced rape /sexual assault. I have a keen interest in continuing research, participating in national research projects such as Mental Health Vulnerabilities among patients attending Sexual Assault Treatment Units in the Republic of Ireland, which was presented at the 7th International Conference on Survivors of Rape (ICSoR) in June 2021.
