Forensic Nurse Manager

Kayce Ward has been working as a Forensic Nurse for the past 20 years. She practiced both as a full-time clinical Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) and as the Forensic Nursing Service program coordinator at Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant in San Antonio, TX. While in this role she managed a team of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners providing 24-hour coverage to more than 25 counties in South Texas. In September of 2020, she had the pleasure of becoming the Forensic Nurse Manager at Texas A&M University, College of Nursing, Center of Excellence in Forensic Nursing. She is responsible for managing the Texas Teleforensic Remote Assistance Center (Tex-TRAC) team of TeleSANE experts. She is directly involved in the training of both the expert TeleSANEs and the clinical staff at all the hospital sites using Tex-TRAC to provide real-time telehealth consultations. Ms. Ward obtained a Master of Science in Nursing Education in 2015, is currently certified as a CA-CP SANE from the Texas Office of the Attorney General and a SANE-A from the International Association of Forensic Nurses. Providing this specialized nursing care to victims of crime is what she has been called to do and she is extremely grateful for the opportunity.
