ECLI/VIBES
Karen McCaffrey Oprea is the Director of SANE/SAFE (Sexual Assault Forensic/Nurse Examiner) Program at ECLI/VIBES where she oversees the recruitment, training, onboarding, continued education and quality assurance of the forensic and administrative teams serving victims of domestic and sexual violence. Since she began in January 2018, the program has expanded from 13 forensic examiners to 21 and has added a fourth partner hospital in Suffolk County. She leads the Suffolk County multi-disciplinary Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) and as of September 2019 also directs our Rape Crisis Counselor program.
With over two decades of experience in building teams and developing staff, Karen was voted “most influential leader” among 35 peer managers at Honeywell Inc during its Dale Carnegie Leadership Training. She holds a BA in Business Economics and an MBA in Finance. She is also a NYS Department of Health-Certified Rape Crisis Counselor.
